I live in Coconut Grove, Florida and I love to craft, take pictures and hang out with my best friend Chris (who I am also married to) and our two spoiled cats. I work for an online scrapbook company called Scrapblog. Scrapblog.com. So here's a little blog about my life and what I find around town and online that inspires me.

    Back From SISiversary 2008

    Monday, June 16th, 2008

Well, KelKel and I spent the weekend at the ScrapInStyletv SISiversary 2008. I went there with plans to basically give information about Scrapblog and talk with the SISTers and answer questions. I had no idea I would meet so many AWESOME people and make so many RAD projects. The entire weekend was completely sublime. I will post some of the projects I completed.

I think one of the funniest things was that Kelley and I did our usual quoting of odd movies. The past few weeks we’ve been slightly obsessed with Steel Magnolias. So the first night, I said to her “drink your juice Shelby” and that was basically the beginning of the end. TracyTN, God love her, knows EVERY stinking line to that movie and her voice, OMG, I really can’t describe it to you. It’s totally too funny!

Also, I realized how completely OLD I am because I absolutely CANNOT stay up all night and function in any way the next day.

I’m so happy for Jeanette and the gang over at SIStv, they really have passion about doing something different for the world of crafting. I have had such a great time getting to know JJ since her visit to Miami (see pic below of JJ & Bob & the Scrapblog crew). Scrapbooking is so much more than putting decorations on your pictures, it’s about friendship, the passion of creating something and sharing the LUB. Thanks to all for an amazing time!! I will definitely be there next year!

    What’s Up Chicken Butt

So I’ve been super busy lately. Tons of stuff I could have been blogging about however, since I stare at my computer all day I really don’t feel compelled to sit at it when I get home. So, the cool stuff (that I can talk about anyway):
    1) Since Chris was in Portland at what I refer to as “Ruby-con” I spent my birthday alone. Sad I know, but Dear, Sweet Kristy took me to lunch and then we hung out at Golf Galaxy since she thinks that’s a sport she can do in old age. Afterwards, I thought I would go see a movie. I actually love going to the movies by myself but I wouldn’t recommend seeing Sex and the City alone. It was totally sad! I came home and was so lonely I literally cried myself to sleep. How pitiful is that?
    2) The following week was much more fun. Jordan and I headed to Utah for some undisclosed reasons, however, I can tell you that I visited with Rhonna Farrer in her studio. She is unbelievably adorable! She’s very little and made me feel like a giant and I’m only 5 foot 2 inches tall. We filmed an episode of Get Crafty! for Scrapblog. I definitely should have chosen a darker shirt or worn a girdle, my stomach looks terrible. Oh well, I’m a real person so what can you do? Jordan and I had a little bit of down time so we visited Sundance, UT. OMG it’s amazing. I really can’t even describe it. Check out the Flickr photos. Come on, you know I could so live like Heidi up in the mountains. I LOVED IT! We got an invitation to go back to Utah for fun, so I’m planning my trip! YAY! :) Hmmm, what else was interesting about Utah? Oh, yeah I stayed at the Hotel Monaco and they gave me a goldfish for my room. How fun? The best part is when they called housekeeping they said “1108 wants a goldfish” like it was such an everyday thing! I’m totally staying there again next time in SLC. Last time I stayed at the Grand America and it is just a tad too “grand” for me. I’m a simple girl.
    3) Best news? I’m heading to Nashville in 2 days for the SIStv event. I’m not sure what exactly to expect, but I have this idea in my head that it will be like a giant slumber party!!! I can’t wait. I need some down time.

So that’s about it. You’re all caught up. Would this info been better in pieces or do you like this giant blog post? Either way, “it is what it is” and I’ll keep blogging when I can. Later kittens!
