I’m Tumblr-ing :)
Monday, August 18th, 2008I realized I didn’t have time to blog - I always feel like I should actually SAY something, so you can see what I’m up to daily at Tumblr.

I live in Coconut Grove, Florida and I love to craft, take pictures and hang out with my best friend Chris (who I am also married to) and our two spoiled cats.
I work for an online scrapbook company called Scrapblog. Scrapblog.com. So here's a little blog about my life and what I find around town and online that inspires me.

So, as promised here are the latest hand-drawn doodles I’ve been working on. I’m totally changing the blog header to be more doodlish. I have found a new way to be creative by drawing and of course showing it off in Scrapblog. Let me know what you think!
Rebecca
I admit it, I have a doodle obsession, I will show you some of my hand-drawn doodles, but for today. I thought it was so cool that I could doodle in Scrapblog. You have to try it - so fun!!
Well, KelKel and I spent the weekend at the ScrapInStyletv SISiversary 2008. I went there with plans to basically give information about Scrapblog and talk with the SISTers and answer questions. I had no idea I would meet so many AWESOME people and make so many RAD projects. The entire weekend was completely sublime. I will post some of the projects I completed.
I think one of the funniest things was that Kelley and I did our usual quoting of odd movies. The past few weeks we’ve been slightly obsessed with Steel Magnolias. So the first night, I said to her “drink your juice Shelby” and that was basically the beginning of the end. TracyTN, God love her, knows EVERY stinking line to that movie and her voice, OMG, I really can’t describe it to you. It’s totally too funny!
Also, I realized how completely OLD I am because I absolutely CANNOT stay up all night and function in any way the next day.
I’m so happy for Jeanette and the gang over at SIStv, they really have passion about doing something different for the world of crafting. I have had such a great time getting to know JJ since her visit to Miami (see pic below of JJ & Bob & the Scrapblog crew). Scrapbooking is so much more than putting decorations on your pictures, it’s about friendship, the passion of creating something and sharing the LUB. Thanks to all for an amazing time!! I will definitely be there next year!
I have still been busy working on all my little projects and I traveled to Utah last week. Somewhere in between I made these two cute books. Here’s the first one:
The last couple of weeks have been quite busy. Work has been full of wonderful new toys to keep me preoccupied. We also updated our furniture a little bit from my favorite place - IKEA
Last friday, I had dinner with my friend Penny. As I walked in her front door, I saw her Christmas tree - lights, decorations and all still up. This is a live tree, mind you! Here are a couple of photos to prove it. She is so funny. I cannot believe that a Christmas tree can stay alive for 5 months - she claims it will last a couple more!

Everyone knows that my favorite movie EVER is ELF. I think mainly because I am also totally addicted to candy and I love his four food groups. My husband and I always laugh because that is totally me - “Candy, candy canes, candy corn & syrup!” Not that I sit around all day and eat candy, but I honestly can’t resist going to candy stores whenever I am traveling or out and about and just getting a little something
So on Friday night we visited our friends that were having a “Festivus” party. I never laughed so hard when I saw this giant santa in their living room. We all had to have our photos taken. Of course I look like an elf because I am only 5 foot tall. LOL Someone needs to tell my friends that Christmas is celebrated only one day in the year - not the WHOLE year, but Happy Holidays anyway!

Just so that no one has the urge to pinch me, as you can see, I am wearing green today. Hope you enjoy your green beer!
Last time I was home in Ohio, my mom gave me this ratty old treasure box I had as a child. There was an old photo on the front that had been damaged. As I was thumbing through all my CC goodies and planning my next project, I mod-podged some papers on top of this little treasure box and how cute did it turn out??? I heart it now and to think I was actually thinking of throwing it away.
I’m almost done with the cards. The cardstock is very nice actually. The only thing that kinda bugs me a little is the tiny, tiny hole punches in the scalloped cards. Punching all those little dots was ANNOYING! Anyhoo, I’m still really enjoying working with the TSV. I’m trying to “fall in love” with my own handwriting, so I did a little marker work on the card pictured above. Not sure I love it.
Finally, I bought this letter “R” several months ago and at my last meet-up I put black paper on it. I wasn’t sure about it so it’s been sitting on my desk for over a month. Today I decided I hated the black paper. Screw the black paper! Just kidding, but I did hate it and so I took it off and decided I was going to just make it red. I do constantly try to find some reason to pull out this paper from Stampin’ Up. I also recently cut out this stamp set called Priceless. Stamping occurred and here’s the result. Looks neato-mosquito on my shelf, RIGHT? Love it too!! Kisses, Rebecca

What a beautiful day in Coral Gables yesterday! I was having lunch outside and I looked up and this was my view. I couldn’t resist snapping a photo.Last week was quite a whirlwind. We had visitors in town and a conference to attend. Chris had the chance to speak at MiamiBarCamp about his latest project TastyPlanner. Here he is with his team, they developed the application in 48 hours and won a competition. It’s always good to have a side project. We also attended FOWA which was held for the first time in Miami. I actually stayed out on Friday night until 3am. I’m still in shock - LOL
You know how after you stay awake too late and then the next day you aren’t quite thinking straight? On Saturday, this little cat was sitting on our fence and Chris & I were talking about how much he looks like Midnight (our black cat, that’s him on the couch). I was out on the patio making dinner and Midnight wandered outside. I was totally confused and I thought Midnight was the other cat. Maybe some crafting would clear my head!
My mission to create something with all 9,000 pieces of the QVC Cosmo Cricket kit continues. I am working on the cards. These are the first two. I am pleased. Of course everything is going to look cute, the papers are amazing!
The photos are a little overexposed. I was in a hurry. So that’s it for today. I’m still trying to see something if someone is doing something cool with the CC kit. Linky please! Have an awesome Tuesday! ![]()
