    Heath Ledger Scrapblog by MirusPeg

    Monday, January 28th, 2008

One of our favorite users of scrapblog created this really amazing memorial scrapblog of Heath Ledger. I had to share it with you, not only because Heath was such a wonderful actor and he deserves some love, but because I wanted to showcase Peg’s amazing online scrapbooking talent. Enjoy and please leave Peg a comment.

    My Funny Valentine

    Thursday, January 24th, 2008

Having a Valentine is indeed a special thing.  I am definitely looking forward to February 14th this year.  We just moved into our cute little place in the Grove, and we spend our mornings together.  Our lives are finally in non-chaos mode for the moment.  As I prepare my Valentine’s Day projects, I am feeling my heart flutter again as I realize how dear my own special Valentine is to me.  This weekend I am heading to my Stampin’ Up meeting and I am planning to create my Valentine’s Day cards.  Here’s to having a goal! :) Valentine’s Scrapblog

    Getting Inspired

    Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I’ve been thinking a lot about Valentine’s Day lately.  I am writing a post about how to write a love letter and it’s really getting me all mushy-gushy. I’ve been married to my husband for almost 12 years and I’m at the point now where I can’t imagine my life without him.  We are truly a family.  We no longer choose to be together, we just are together and it feels amazing.I haven’t been able to craft in a few weeks and it’s really starting to bum me out quite a bit.  I need to unpack at least a few things to work on so I feel more inspired.  I have been reading some really interesting blog posts that are keeping me going until my craft space is functioning again.  I love Tim Holtz and I think it’s starting to boarder on obsession with his blog.  I can’t wait to see what he’s up to everyday.  There are some amazing artists in the scrapbook world.  I am also reading a new magazine that my hubby found called “Before & After.”  The latest issue has some really great digital photo tips.  The cover caught my eye because the title reads “Scrapbook-style photo.”  Inside there are more wonderful articles about logotype and design ideas.  It’s perfect to get your design juices flowing.  This is a short post and no pictures (boooo!)  I have a goal to unpack my craft room this weekend because I am going to my Stampin’ Up group meeting on Sunday and I’m the hostess!!! :) Fun goodies for me, I can’t wait.  Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy! (ok, I know that’s soo 1992, but what can I say?)Later!

    Create your own Rub Ons

rUBONZ Have you seen these???? I’ve ordered some and I look longingly at my postman daily to see if they have arrived.  The possibilities are swirling around in my head. I haven’t been doing much in the way of crafting lately because we are gearing up for the big move which is scheduled for tomorrow morning.  I honestly can’t wait to get my craft space set up and have cozy evenings listening to music with my hubby, wonderful warm winter dinner parties on the patio with our friends, and sunny mornings sipping coffee while my cats lay in the sun.  It’s going to be FANTASTIC!! I won’t be missing the 2 hour one way commute, that is for sure!  I am feeling very creative and since I will be traveling for work in a week, I need to get cracking on my Valentine’s Day cards and projects.  I will hopefully share them with you soon!

    The Gypsy Chick

    Thursday, January 10th, 2008

I love Facebook.  Among a million other reasons, I made a new friend today!  Jodie Patterson, aka “The Gypsy Chick.”  She is a talented digital scrapbook designer and has a group on Facebook.  I bought a couple of her items today to feed my new found interest in digital scrapbooking.  It’s so easy to digital scrapbook with Scrapblog.  Even though I’ve used Photoshop and I pretty much know the basics, I have a hard time figuring out how to put together a proper scrapbook page.  Anywho, I began this Scrapblog using my photos from Vizcaya and Jodie’s designs.  I hope to learn more about digital scrapbook design and designers in the coming weeks.  I love my job!Vizcaya Miami, FL

    New Chapter in My Life

    Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

I know I haven’t blogged since just after the Thanksgiving holiday.  I am lame!  The main reason for my absence has been that I had the flu.  I always get sick after traveling.  The bigger news is that I officially joined Scrapblog.com full time!  It’s a leap of faith to leave my corporate job, but as they say “nothing ventured, nothing gained!” I have been crafting for all of my life, but I hopped on the scrapbook bandwagon in 1996.   Back then, there were no scrapbook stores, no classes and especially no digital scrapbooking!Because I am not a graphic designer or a digital scrapbooker, I have a lot to learn and it’s very exciting.  At Scrapblog, we hope to get as much feedback from the scrapbooking community as possible.  We want to know if you like the product and how we can improve.  I am also looking for some digital scrapbook designers to create some “scrapbook” style content for the site.  If you know anyone or have a recommendation, please let me know.  My email is rebecca [at] scrapblog [dot] comAs for me personally, my hubby and I are moving to Coconut Grove.  The Grove is 2 miles from my new office in Coral Gables, so I think I will only have to fill up the Mini once a month!   Map of Coconut Grove I was under a lot of pressure in my previous job and couple that with a very long commute everyday, I didn’t have much time to craft or create.  It’s amazing that I’ve managed to work on this blog in the past 6 months.  I did make some projects over the Holidays and I’ll be sharing them with you in the next few days.  (Here’s a sneak peek!) Altered Notebook  I hope my loyal readers haven’t left because I didn’t blog.  I’m sorry, however now I’m ready to rock and roll in 2008!  Thank you for the support and I can’t wait to get your feedback!
