I live in Coconut Grove, Florida and I love to craft, take pictures and hang out with my best friend Chris (who I am also married to) and our two spoiled cats. I work for an online scrapbook company called Scrapblog. Scrapblog.com. So here's a little blog about my life and what I find around town and online that inspires me.

Altered Tea Cup and Beer Mug Gifts for Friends

    Altered tea cup & mug

Like most of you, I comb the internet for fun and interesting ways to take my scrapbooking to another level. As I’ve mentioned before, one of my favorite blogs to read is Mel from Australia. She always has the most beautiful little things on display. So when I went looking for a fun and unique project to make as a gift, I of course, turned to her website. This is my version of the pin cushion she received from a friend of hers.

The tea cup is made simply by gluing the cup to the saucer and embellishing with bits and sparkles. The top is actually a face towel that I trimmed down and stuffed with a cardboard base for stability. The beer mug is made with crimped golden paper and the foam is off-white shelf liner that was stuffed the same way. Inside I put all kinds of little items you might need at work, such as shout wipes, safety pins, matches, band-aids, airborne, etc. I thought they would make great gifts to sit on your desk at work. I know I’m always looking for a safety pin! I hope you make something of your own and share the photos with me!! (per usual click on the photo to see the entire Scrapblog).

    CuttleBug by Provo-Craft

I BOUGHT IT!!! :) I finally got the Cuttlebug from Provocraft. I did tons of research online and decided on the Cuttlebug. It uses all the dies from all the manufacturers. It’s super-cool! Here are a couple of articles worth reading if you are thinking of getting one.

Amy from SplitCoast Stampers provides great tips for using all the dies. She even created a spreadsheet.

Julie at Paper Trufflez wrote a wonderful article discussing the pros and cons of the Cuttlebug and the Big Shot.
You won’t be dissapointed if you buy the Cuttlebug. I hope to show more of the things I create with this wonderful little tool. Click on the pictures to see my entire slide show about my Cuttlebug!

    Royal Caribbean Voyager Cruise

I’ve been playing more with Scrapblog and how I can display my scrapbook layouts. These layouts and pictures are from our Royal Caribbean Cruise that we took in March on the Voyager of the Seas. If you click on the picture, you can see all of the layouts I completed for the cruise. One of my goals this week is to finish up the scrapbooking of these cruise pictures. I can’t believe how long it takes me sometimes to work on projects. There are times that I look through blogs and I find inspiration everywhere but then I have to think it over before I take my own spin on things. All of these layouts were inspired by artists I saw online. I will provide links later today.

I have been searching the internet for more inspiration, I have added more links to my blogroll. These are artists that truly have the “Superstar” quality. I hope you find as much inspiration as I have.
